Generalized scalar field potentials and inflation.

چکیده
We investigate the range of inflationary universe models driven by scalar fields possessing a general interaction potential of the form V (φ) = V0φ n exp(−λφm). Power-law, de Sitter and intermediate inflationary universes emerge as special cases together with several new varieties of inflation. Analysing the behaviour of these models at the extrema of φ we derive sufficient constraints on the m n parameter space such that inflation may occur as both an early and late-time phenomenon. We also compute the scalar and tensor perturbations produced in the model and compare these results with recent observations.

Generalized assisted inflation
Scalar field theory has become the generic playground for building cosmological models related to particle physics, in particular for obtaining inflationary cosmologies. One such class of models involves exponential potentials @exp(A16p/pmPl 2 f)# , which lead to power law inflation, a }t, with p.1, for sufficiently flat potentials @1–3#. A number of related features have also been discovered f...
متن کاملBrane World Inflation with Scalar and Tachyon Fields
We present inflationary models of the early universe in the braneworld scenario considering both scalar field and tachyon field separately. The technique of Chervon and Zhuravlev to obtain inflationary cosmological models without restrictions on a scalar field potential is employed here. We note that like scalar field, the inflationary solution obtained here with tachyon field also does not dep...
متن کاملModels of Quintessential Inflation
A unified approach to quintessence and inflation is investigated with the use of a single scalar field. It is argued that successful potentials have to approximate a combination of exponential and inverse power-law decline in the limit of large values of the scalar field. A class of such potentials is studied analytically and it is found that quintessential inflation is indeed possible. Success...
متن کاملCoarse-Grained Back Reaction in Single Scalar Field Driven Inflation
We introduce a self-consistent stochastic coarse-graining method, which includes both metric and scalar field fluctuations, to investigate the back reaction of long wavelength perturbations in single-scalar driven inflation, up to the second (one loop) order. We demonstrate that, although back reaction cannot be significant during the last 70 e-foldings of inflation with a smooth potential, the...
